The Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce asked Reaction to produce the intros, bumpers, finalist videos, and the post-show recap for the Business of the Year Awards.
The 15 finalists were announced on September 10th, only 37 days before the night of the event. Shooting and editing the videos with such a short time frame was a big ask, something that Reaction thrives on. During the event our videos received enormously positive feedback from all in attendance. It’s safe to say the bar has certainly been raised.
On the night of the awards, the videos premiered to more than 300 attendees. In just the first two weeks following the event, the videos were viewed over 5,000 times on social media, reaching nearly 15,000 people and generating over 600 likes, comments and shares. This brought enormous attention to the Chamber and the work they do to build networks and support the local business community in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
3 finalists were shortlisted in 5 different categories, with 1 winner per category declared at the gala. Congratulations to the 2018 Business of the Year Awards winners!

In 2018, nearly 100 businesses were nominated across the 5 categories, so even being considered in the top 3 is an honour. Congratulations to all of the 2018 Business of the Year Awards finalists.

Creating the finalist profile videos was awesome, but the team at Reaction was also tasked with delivering the additional supporting assets for the event.
These additional assets included the program intro and video bumpers, table cards, the event program, and the tickets themselves.
Our introduction video welcomed guests to the show and recognized the event sponsors and supporters. The theme for the night was A Midsummer Nights Dream, which inspired the mystical forest featured in the video.
During the night of the event our team was on-site to capture the evening, interview the winners, and we put together a recap video so the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce could share the evening with their social followers who may have missed attending themselves. This video will also serve as a great marketing asset when promoting the event in the following years.
We had an awesome night at the 2018 Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards. See you all next year!
