Project Brief

Westerner Park came to us with the objective to increase their 2015 Westerner Days Fair & Exposition attendance. After initial research, our goal was to create a campaign theme, messaging, and marketing collateral to remind the public of all the things they can see and do at Westerner Days. From concerts and rides, to chuckwagons and food, we wanted to capture these experiences, while encouraging visitors to attend more than just one day.

Our Solution

Westerner Days can be narrowed down to three main pillars: rides, food and entertainment. We came up with a campaign theme to showcase these three pillars through vibrant and fun imagery with witty messaging you’d be sure to remember. We designed a series of illustrations that successfully married each pillar with a western theme, while providing a cohesive visual platform to promote specific events and activities. Why not pig out at the Grub Hub, horse around on the 40 thrilling midway rides or groove to the moo-sic at your favourite concert?

Project Details

We brought the campaign to life across several mediums, including traditional print outlets, outdoor advertising and social media. We translated the campaign theme into a clean and responsive website to act as the main hub of information about everything happening around this major five-day event in Red Deer. As a result, this website received over 100k visits in the month around Westerner Days and we worked to keep the website running smoothly and support their in-house team with maintenance and content updates as needed.
